YOur Story first, photos later
On my wedding day, we had no photographer.
At the registry office, however, one was waiting for us. Working in partnership with the mairie, he was there to capture (with great us of direct powerful flash), the weddings of couples who, like us, hadn’t thought to book anyone. He then descended on unsuspecting parents and grandparents to sell them on the spot the worst wedding photographs ever taken.
I hated every second of this experience, and it ruined our celebration a little. To this day, I shudder when I see our bewildered faces in the framed portrait that still hangs proudly at my grandmother’s house.
That’s why, before I photograph your wedding, I want to understand who you are. Not your theme, not your décor — you two. Your relationship, your story. What makes you laugh. What you’ll still want to remember in twenty years. What you absolutely cannot afford to miss on the day.
The goal isn’t to become your new best friend — though it’s been known to happen. It’s to be a quiet, reassuring presence that you can forget about, right up until the moment you actually need me.

I don’t do trends.
When I photograph your wedding, I don’t want to create “trendy” photos to break through on social media. I want to create images that you will enjoy finding, sharing and passing on for years to come, without fear of finding them cliché or out of fashion.
Nothing beats the raw simplicity of emotions: There are so many in a marriage, I don’t think it’s necessary to create artificial ones through complex staging.”

LIVING THE MOMENT
Your wedding isn’t a photo shoot, nor is it a manifesto for social media; it’s a moment to be fully experienced, for you and you alone. We’ll plan the day’s schedule and the moments for photos in advance, but the rest of the time, I’ll capture the natural flow of events without interrupting you or fabricating what didn’t happen.
Weddings are also about embracing a little bit of chaos, which is what makes this day so human!

Film photography isn’t a style choice for me. It’s a way of working, one that’s been part of my practice for over ten years. I shoot on film for one simple reason:
It just looks really bloody good
And like the vinyl devotees who will defend the superior sound of their records against all rational argument and common sense, I will keep shooting on film for as long as there are couples who agree with me that…

My name is Baptiste. I’m 33. I’ve been married for 5 years now, and the proud father of a wonderful 3 year old girl.
It’s actually my wife who introduced me to photography, mostly on film. I caught the bug and now, it’s my full day job. I photograph weddings, family and couples, but I’m also a teacher. I own a darkroom full of enlargers and teaches people how to use them.
I believe in a natural yet beautiful photography. I did not have a photographer on my wedding, and it’s one of my biggest regrets. But I also think that a wedding is a day to be lived : I want to capture it the way it is, with just a little bit of art to make it look even better than it was.
